The Popover Shirt

IMG_6006 (1).JPG

In the 1960’s Gant, the popular American prep clothing company modified the traditional front button shirt by ending the placket early. By ending the placket just below the chest the shirt became known as the popover (taking it’s name from “popping” it over your head). This versatile shirt can be worn casual or dressy. Phil Edwards is shown wearing a popover in the 60’s.
